Position Summary:
The College of Environment and Design (CED) at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of full-time Lecturer. The CED seeks candidates with professional expertise within the field of Landscape Architecture to teach courses in various year levels within the program. Teaching responsibilities will include a mix of undergraduate and graduate classes in Landscape Architecture. We are particularly interested in candidates who can effectively teach design studios with projects ranging from site design to regional planning, urban design, site engineering, and construction materials and methods. We seek individuals with a deep passion for teaching and mentoring students who are great collaborators and are excited to engage in interdisciplinary teamwork. This non-tenure track position starts on August 1, 2025, and is an academic year appointment (9 months). The position of Lecturer is defined as a 100% teaching and service position without a research expectation. The position is annually renewable, and career advancement opportunities exist with promotions to senior and principal levels. Successful appointment as a non-tenure track Lecturer will require teaching up to 24 credit hours per academic year. Minimum Qualifications:
• A professionally accredited MLA degree or an accredited BLA degree with a terminal degree in an allied design discipline.
• Five years professional work experience under supervision of a licensed landscape architect.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Teaching at the college level and a demonstrated record of professional accomplishment that includes design awards or similar recognition.
• Landscape architecture licensure.
• Demonstration of teaching, professional practice, and/or design expertise that is highly recognized by peers.
• Proficiency using the digital tools of the profession including at minimum the Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
• Proficiency using digital tools of the profession beyond those listed as minimum, such as Civil3D, Revit, GIS, Rhino, Lumion, etc.
• The ability to graphically convey design thoughts and ideas by hand.

UGA’s College of Environment and Design (CED) is home to the oldest landscape architecture program in the Southeast and one of the largest BLA programs in the United States. In addition to the BLA and MLA programs, the College provides Masters of Historic Preservation, Masters of Urban Planning and Design, and PhD degrees, as well as certificates in Environmental Ethics, Cultural Landscapes, and Historic Preservation. The College’s global presence includes regular programming at UGA’s campus in Cortona, Italy, and a strong working relationship with Nanjing Forestry University and Beijing Forestry University.
