Landscape Architecture + Environmental Design Program Coordinator

Landscape Architecture + Environmental Design Program Coordinator

University of California, Davis

The LAED Program Coordinator provides administrative support for the Landscape Architecture + Environmental Design (LAED) program, housed within the Department of Human Ecology. The Program Coordinator works closely with the LAED Program Director, delivering the undergraduate majors in Landscape Architecture and Sustainable Environmental Design as well as the Graduate Academic Certificate in Landscape Architecture + Environmental Design. The LAED program offers the only accredited undergraduate landscape architecture major in the UC system as well as a steadily growing Sustainable Environmental Design major. Its mission is to prepare students to be future leaders in landscape architecture and the environmental design fields. The Program Coordinator’s chief role is to support the Program Director and faculty members of LAED in delivering two undergraduate degrees – including one professionally accredited degree program – and in leading the strategic planning and outreach necessary to support an engaged and impactful program.
The individual filling this position should have a background in environmental design and hold a professional degree in landscape architecture or an affiliated field (architecture, urban design, planning); landscape architecture licensure is preferred. In addition to supporting the Program Director, they will coordinate with the Chair and Chief Administrative Officer of the Human Ecology Department, faculty members in LAED, undergraduate staff advisors, and students.
Their primary responsibilities include management and coordination of the LAED program, support of instruction and facilities, professional and community outreach, and strategic planning.
