Tenure Track Assistant Professor
Clemson University's Landscape Architecture Program seeks applicants for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position beginning August 15, 2022.
Successful candidates will teach core courses in the BLA and MLA curricula, and will be expected to satisfy expectations for high performance in research and teaching , as well as service contributions to the Program and School at large. The successful candidate will likely teach undergraduate or graduate design studios and a 3-credit course within the BLA or MLA curricula.
Clemson offers two LAAB accredited programs (BLA and MLA). The BLA was established in 1986 and the MLA in 2005. The BLA program regularly enrolls over 80 students, with MLA enrollment over 20 students. Both programs have a strong focus on preparing aspiring landscape architects in a full complement of planning and design, typifying the profession. Design Intelligence Quarterly regularly ranks Clemson BLA as one of the Most Admired programs in the country. The MLA program was also ranked in the Top 25 recently. Landscape Architecture is one of four programs in the School of Architecture, including architecture, resilient urban design, and historic preservation. The School of Architecture is housed in the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities (CAAH). Graduate faculty in CAAH engage in the delivery of the cross-disciplinary Ph.D. program focused on built environments. The Landscape Architecture Program is in Lee III, a contemporary 55,000sf award-winning studio facility that is complemented by the School's trademarked "fluid campus™" locations in Charleston, SC, Genoa (Italy), and Barcelona (Spain). Candidates with a passion for landscape architecture and interdisciplinary education are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates should hold an accredited professional degree in landscape architecture and a master's degree in landscape architecture or a closely related field of study. Professional license and/or Ph.D. are preferred. We are looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Beginning design
• Interdisciplinary design
• Site engineering
• Design implementation.
